Ingredients

  • 4 slices rustic Italian bread (e.g., ciabatta or sourdough.)
  • 2-3 cloves fresh garlic, peeled.
  • Extra virgin olive oil, preferably new season (novello.)
  • Flaky sea salt (e.g., Maldon.)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional.)

Instructions

1. Toast the bread

Grill, toast, or pan-fry the slices of rustic Italian bread until golden brown and slightly crispy on both sides. You can do this on a grill pan, in a toaster, or under the broiler.

2. Rub with garlic
